Commissions Information and Prices

Commissions of any size undertaken, from a single figure, large or small, to a squad or regiment, to a complete army. Please note that most of the gallery pages contain examples of my commission work, this is often mentioned in the text somewhere. There are also recent examples of commissioned work in the pictures on this page.

If you like what you have seen in the galleries and would like me to paint some figures for you, this page will give you all the information you need. I have outlined below the way I work, together with some idea of prices. If you would like to take advantage of my painting commission service, please ensure that you are happy with these terms and conditions before you make contact.

So, a typical commission goes something like this:-
  1. You contact me, telling me what you want painted.
  2. I reply, with requests for clarifications if necessary, enabling me to give you a firm quote and a rough estimate of timescale.
  3. You accept the quote by sending a 20% deposit, plus either the figures or the relevant amount for me to order them.
  4. I complete the work, giving you regular updates as work progresses.
  5. I send you photographs of the completed items(s) and an invoice for the outstanding amount.
  6. You pay the outstanding balance.
  7. When the payment has cleared, I send the figures to you.
Spelling it out like this may seem very formal, but it ensures that I can offer a professional service.

Prices vary depending on the level of finish required, the amount of detail on the model(s), and any special requirements (such as an elaborate banner, conversions or sculpted bases). All prices include preparation, painting, a textured base and (optionally) varnish. Prices exclude the cost of the figures, shipping and insurance charges. The prices shown below are guide prices only and will vary depending on individual requirements.

Regiments of figures are painted to a high standard, though not every figure will receive individual attention as a character model would. Prices are between £10 and £20 per foot troop, between £20 and £40 per mounted troop. I can accept pre-prepared figures, with an appropriate discount applied.

Individual figures vary tremendously in price, from £30 upwards. These could be characters, such as heroes or wizards, or you may want a regiment or squad painted to a very high level. Larger figures, such as war machines, monsters, etc., generally start at around £50.

Just to repeat myself, these are guide prices only and should not be taken as maximum prices! The only way to get a concrete figure is to send in your enquiry.
