Blog
Check out the Hobby Horse, my blog, mostly ramblings
about ongoing projects, with a
few tips and painting recipes too.
Upcoming attractions!
July 16th
Sorry
about the inactivity recently, I had a really bad summer cold that
knocked me out for a while. I have also been working on fairly
time-consuming projects that don't allow weekly updates. I will be
adding them to the site in the next few weeks, not just yet (sorry
again). So what's the point of this update then? Think of it as a main
summer feature trailer.
One of the new projects is a chaos army that I am collecting for
myself. There are regular(ish) work in progress reports in the blog,
together with a few pictures. It's my main personal project for the
summer and beyond, so hopefully plenty of updates to come.
There will also be a new 40k army to follow. Just a couple of squads painted at the moment, but with many more to come.
And finally I have a couple of larger than average models that I
have recently completed or are under way. Again, pictures to come
in the next few weeks.
Auctions
June 8th
A
number of items up for auction at the moment, including some of the new
Imperial Guard command figures, some Lord of the Rings action heroes
and a couple of lizardmen skink regiments.
Green
May 16th
Some green skinned warriors available in the auctions this week. Green and scaley that is.
I also have some green armoured hulking warriors added to the Dark Angels gallery.
Finally, I have some ideas for a green elf army circulating round my
head. Check out the blog for more of my ramblings on this latest idea
to paint far too many figures in far too little time.
Three dwarfs, four heroes, two trees
April 29th
Not
just any old dwarfs. The three mightiest beards you can pack onto a
base, at least for the last thirty years or so at any rate. Four heroes
from the War of the Ring, plus a couple of tall and woody items from
the same game.
A note about lizardmen. I do have four five regiments to finish off,
but I keep getting distracted by one thing and another. I am hoping to
make a big push this week to get them done. Mind you, some of those
Imperial Guard characters look very tempting.
A small taster
April 27th
A
small update, some War of the Ring heroes available in the auctions. I
do have a fair number of images to upload to the site in the coming
week, so stay tuned for a bigger update in a couple of days! Probably.
Two Beards, a Belly and some fangs
March 31st
A
welcome return to painting beards this update, with two of the
mightiest dwarfs of the Warhammer world, engaged in some kind of
pointing contest. More beards in the next update. There's also another
of the Avatars of War range, a rather rotund chap who could, maybe, be
the source of the finger-wagging. And finally there's a pack of
slavering dire wolves added to the Vampire Counts gallery.
Three Chiefs
March 16th
A
small update for the middle of the month, though three big cheeses.
There's a herald of Khorne riding a juggernaut, the Masque of Slaanesh
and Sicarius of the Ultramarines. More famous characters to come soon,
including a return to two of my favourite ranges.
